Sketch #309 | You Are My Shining Star | Yvette Weber

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

It's a new month and that means a new sketch here at Creative Scrapper!

Here's a look at the August sketch #309 designed by the talented Kristine Davidson.

Here's my take on this month's sketch.

To created this page, I combined patterned paper and most of my embellishments from a few Jillibean Soup collections.

I decided to use one 4x6 photo instead of two smallest photos and added a thin strip of pattern paper on top of the bottom cluster which extended across the page.

Next, I created a cluster on the bottom left hand corner of my photo that includes a flair from A Flair for Buttons, a few die cut pieces from Jillibean soup, along with some wood veneer stars.

I added another small cluster to the upper right hand corner for the photo and tucked a tag underneath the patterned paper layers and added some machine stitching.

I wanted to add a little more detail and color to the left side of my photo, I did this by tucking a few more pieces of embellishments underneath the photo and then finish off with some journaling strips.

The rock star stamp set from Jillibean Soup had the perfect phase to use as a title for my layout, I just use black ink and stamp it right onto the pattern paper :)

I finish off my layout with some more machine stitching and some paint splatters.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx Yvette

C'est la vie!

Here is my page using sketch 309!
To make my page, I used one of my favourite pic featuring my kids, which dates back to last summer. I like having shots of them laughing together....

This is my very last page for Creative Scrappers Design Team. I wanted to thank Kristine Davidson for the amazing opportunity she gave me to share more than a year with extremely talented scrappers, enabling me to virtually meet wonderful people.
It has always been a pleasure creating from her sketches and I wish the next Creative Team all the best!
Hope will keep in touch through social media.
Thanks everyone of you for your regular support and compliments.

Love from France,

Summer Refreshments, Sketch 309 | Majken Pullin

Hello Creative Scrappers and happy Friday!

What is your favorite summer refreshment?  I adore iced tea, and even though I'm from Texas, I don't drink it sweetened.  I love how iced tea goes with just about everything!  And during a trip this summer to Colorado, I got to enjoy a breakfast of a croissant with an iced tea on the patio.  Take a peek at my layout.

This fabulous sketch calls for two photos, but the photo I wanted to scrap wouldn't have had the same impact if I'd printed it smaller (you may not be able to see the mountains in the background of my photo as it is!).  Aren't these bright colors in Echo Park's Summer Fun collection charming?

Here are a few close-ups.  I used the chipboard stickers for "Summer" and cut "refreshments" out using my Cameo.  You see how the aqua striped "M" in summer matched the stripes in my background?  I totally didn't plan for that - it was a serendipity.  :)

How fun is that plaid paper?!  I did some distressing and stitching around the edges, and I tucked in one of the journaling squares "warm sunny moments".

I love the white space on the left of the design, but because I used such colorful papers, I decided to sprinkle a bits of different inks to tie it all together...plus a few enamel dots.

I used the area towards the bottom for my journaling, plus more chipboard stickers for dimension.  I love that little floral pineapple!

I'm so glad you stopped by!  I hope my take on the sketch inspires you to use the sketch in a fun way, and share your layout on Instagram!
