Sketch #304 / Be true darling

Good morning everyone!! I hope you're doing good today!
Well its Sarah here again to share my take on sketch #304!

I started my layout by grabbing the Maggie Holmes Shine collection from my stash and the goofy pictures of me playing on snapchat.

I wanted to do mine a little different so I went with circles and a cut-file for one of my layers. I knew I wanted the cut-file from the Cut Shoppe to be my 1st layer behind my photo, so I started out with backing it and then adding pop dots to the back to five some dimension.

After I did that I grabbed that pretty black and white stripped paper and the blue dotted paper and cut them into circles about the same size.  I added a doily in between them from Pretty little studios. I love those doilies! I added all the papers, cut-file and doily down at an angle, like the sketch. I added a tag in from the ephemera pack that went along with this collection and backed another circle with some of the same patterned paper as the res of the cut-file and slid it behind the tag.

I decided I wanted to add a few floral stickers and stems from the ephemera pack, I grabbed a few little chipboard hearts from the chipboard sheet too. I love that camera from the sticker sheet but have never used it and with this being pictures of me, I figured it would work great! lol So I added that and placed my title on top. To finish my layout off I grabbed my Heidi Swapp black color shine and did a bit of splattering and called it done.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my take on this fun sketch and I hope you play along with us too!! Make sure to share your creations with us on Instagram @creativescrappers #creatingwithsketches

Sunshine I Anne Keller

Hello scrappy friends, Anne here. Today it's my turn on the blog and I want to show you my layout with sketch 304.
I rotated the sketch a little bit and came up with this.
In the sketch, you can see the places for the embellishments. I used them and everything comes together so easily. I was in a scrappy flow...
I mixed my Crate Paper stuff for this spring layout and I love the colours. So fresh.
I hope, you're inspired to scrap your own layout with the sketch and post it on the blog. Please also tag us on Instagram @creativescrappers with #creatingwithsketches, so we can see all your beautiful creations. This month you can win a prize from My Creative Scrapbook. Here is the sketch for you again.

Sketch #304: One of Those Great Days

Hello there!!! I'm Vivian and will be showing you my version of this month's sketch.

I will admit, I found this sketch particularly challenging. My own style is all about using small bits of paper instead of large sheets. After scratching my head for a while, I decided to go "old school". By that I mean an older line of paper, older photos, and embrace an older style of scrapping.

Sketch #304 - Everyday by Rachel Lowe:

Wow what an interesting sketch this is!

I like space on my layouts and I am a fan of white and cut files but I challenged myself to use this sketch and go outside my comfort zone.

And here is my layout!

I have used Pink Paislee Moonstruck collection.

I knew I wanted to create a very feminine layout in keeping with my photos of my beautiful daughter.

I have stuck to the sketch adding some extras, who can resist butterflies with florals!

I have added velum to soften the layers.

And the only cut file on this layout is a small vellum butterfly flourish.

I have added splatters of gold and sewing for texture against the woodgrain base paper.

I fussy cut some of the beautiful roses and tucked them under a layer.

Sketches are a great way to push your creative boundaries, go with it I say and you will love the results!

Thank you for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing all your creations using this sketch!

'Butterfly Adventure' by Nicole Doiron - Sketch #304

Nicole here today, and it is my turn to showcase a project based
on Sketch #304 over on the Creative Scrappers blog!

Here is the March sketch, designed by none other than the fabulous Kristine Davidson.

Sketch #304 has proven to be a tad bit challenging for some of us designers,
but that is all part of the fun of working with sketches!
Every element is versatile and can be altered to fit your design style
and product and theme choices.

Instead of using the same square shape and size of different pattern papers,
I opted to overlay different sizes, from big to small,
diagonally (just as the sketch) across my background.

I opted for a large butterfly cut out of the pretty Bo Bunny 'Sweet Life' papers in place of the stars and decided to use only 2 pictures instead of 3.

I love the combination of bright colours on this layout.  As much as I love elegant
and romantic pieces, I also adore creating in a more bold and fun style like this one.

I fussy cut and punched a few smaller butterflies and added
even more colour using enamel dots and splatters of paint.

I hope I have inspired you to take part in the challenge
and share with us your take on Creative Scrappers' Sketch #304!
